He makes a conclusion about the need to develop a single, scientifically grounded, universal criterion for standardizing the activities of expert-criminalistic units as a whole of various departmental subordination.

 The article considers the algorithm of using the method of thin-layer chromatography to solve expert problems related to the differentiation of electrographic printing toners. The authors conclude that the obtained experimental data indicate that the method of thin-layer chromatography does not identify a specific brand or model of the toner of an electrographic device, but only allows to establish the presence or absence of a common generic of electrographic printing toners.
